Contemplation on No-Coming, No-Going

I am deeply touched by this short verse that I found in Thay's Chanting from the Heart: Buddhist Ceremonies and Daily Practices . "Contemplation on No-Coming, No-Going" The body is not me. I am not limited by this body. I am life without boundaries. I have never been born, and I have never died. Look at the ocean and the sky filled with stars, manifestations from my wondrous True Mind. Since before time, I have been free. Birth and death are only doors through which we pass, scared thresholds on our journey. Birth and death are a game of hide-and-seek. So laugh with me, hold my hand, let us say good-bye, say good-bye, to meet again soon. We meet today. We will meet again tomorrow. We will meet at the source every moment. We meet each other in all forms of life.

14 Mindfulness Trainings

I am deeply inspired by TNH's teaching. Above all, his ability to interpret Buddhism wisdom to simple plain text is a great gift to this world. I copied this from the Plum Village website for ease of access. 14 Mindfulness Trainings Sit still and breathe :) 1. Openness Aware of the suffering created by fanaticism and intolerance, I am determined not to be idolatrous about or bound to any doctrine, theory or ideology, even Buddhist ones. Buddhist teachings are guiding means to help me learn to look deeply and to develop my understanding and compassion. They are not doctrines to fight, kill or die for. 2. Non-attachment to Views Aware of suffering created by attachment to views and wrong perceptions, I am determined to avoid being narrow-minded and bound to present views. I will learn and practise non-attachment from views in order to be open to others’ insights and experiences. I am aware that the knowledge I presently possess is not changeless, absolute truth. Truth is found in lif

Last night I learned of this character from Islamic culture. Here it is... His stories remind me of Koan in Zen Buddhism tradition. So far, I learned of the following important Koan collections:' * Blue Cliff Records (碧巖錄) * Gateless gate (無門關) * The Book of Equanimity (從容録) Where it is such a case, it remains to be examined. :-)

Across the Universe

Last night during a small meditation gathering, the lyric of the song was mentioned. The beautiful melody by Lennon keeps repeating in my head. I have no choice but put it down here. It seems that Lennon lets his sorrow pour out like pouring rain, restless wind... then he hears a calling from the ultimate source of love.. "Sounds of laughter shades of live are ringing through my open ears Inciting and inviting me Limitless undying love which shines around me like a million suns It calls me on and on, across the universe" Across the Universe Words are flowing out like endless rain into a paper cup They slither wildly as they slip away across the universe Pools of sorrow, waves of joy are drifting through my open mind Possessing and caressing me Jai Guru Deva OM Nothing's gonna change my world Nothing's gonna change my world Nothing's gonna change my world Nothing's gonna change my world Images of broken light which dance before me like a million eyes They call
